What's your memoir's ultimate purpose?

Here's today's 15 seconds of inspiration,
this week's Tuesday Tidbit:

What is your memoir's ultimate purpose? Have you given it any serious thought?

Here at SM 101, Deuteronomy 4:9 is our focus:

“Always remember what you’ve seen God do for you
and be sure to tell your children and grandchildren!”

With that in mind, please read What is Your Memoir’s Ultimate Purpose?

May those words help you focus
and organize
and write
and finish
your memoir!

P.S. The photo at that link is of my sweet daughter and my second grandson!  :)

  1. An important concept indeed, and one so few people think about. You can break this topic down further: 1) your personal purpose for telling the story and 2) reader response you hope for.

These may or may not be the same. I.e. as stated above, your personal purpose may be to give testimony, and you hope your reader will respond with not only amazement at God's power, but new or deeper faith and appropriate action. By focusing on anticipated outcome, you may choose a different delivery style if you are "preaching to the choir" versus hoping to hook unbelievers who may flee if you preach.

One focus drives message content, the other delivery style. Thanks for spurring me to clarify that for myself!
