You can break this topic down further: 1) your personal purpose for telling the story and 2) reader response you hope for. <br /><br />These may or may not be the same. I.e. as stated above, your personal purpose may be to give testimony, and you hope your reader will respond with not only amazement at God's power, but new or deeper faith and appropriate action. By focusing on anticipated outcome, you may choose a different delivery style if you are "preaching to the choir" versus hoping to hook unbelievers who may flee if you preach. <br /><br />One focus drives message content, the other delivery style.
